Madrid has such great style. You see the old ladies in their silk scarves and big shades nursing their vermouth on a Tuesday afternoon, sat outside a tiled bar and feeding their little dog pieces of manchego. The punk rock chicas with their big leather jackets and platform boots slouched against a wall, smoking outside an overflowing bar. The long trench-coat girlies with bouncy blow-dried hair and the perfectly baggy pair of jeans, running to buy their matcha.
From the vintage stores of Malasana to the high-end shops of Chueca, there seems to be an abundant array of epic tiendas to choose from. Paloma Wool, Desigual, and Gimaguas are leading the way in sending Spanish style around the globe. But here are 6 more Spanish brands gaining traction.
1. Reparto
I figured I should start with something loud. Reparto was founded by Margil Peña and Ana Viglione in 2019. It describes itself as a brand that ‘creates characters’, exploring themes not usually associated with fashion, like humour. You can definitely see that in their shop. I mean, the first item you see on the online store is a baby romper saying ‘famous soon’. Epic.
One of my personal favourites is the collection of bags embossed with ‘ciao‘ (available in black, pink, and silver). The leather was rescued from surplus Mexican leather goods manufacturers which makes them even better. I also love the pussycat skirt and dress. They’re kinda terrifying but in a really wonderful way.
I also really suggest checking out their catwalk collection on the website. Whilst their work on there is less humorous than the online store, it’s insanely good. I can totally understand why they’ve been winning so many awards.
Check out their website and Instagram here.

2. Coconutscankill
Amara Caruncho Ledo founded Coconutscankill in 2018. Amara is known for experimenting with various techniques and blending artistic disciplines to create truly unique pieces, and I can see why. The first thing you notice is the distinct shapes and textures of every single item in the store. Asymmetry is so on trend right now and this shop seems to be one of the best in the business. It’s giving grunge in the best way possible.
Honestly, I’m struggling to pick out my favourites because everything is super cool. The Bad Gyal mini skirt is definitely up there though. The way the yellow mesh gathers and then drapes to the floor is so beautiful. And the yellow and brown combo is so good (particularly when they style it with the red tights). The whole thing is potentially hazardous if worn to the club, but live life dangerously…right?
We also have to take a moment for the dresses. Wow. The Super Denim Dress is incredible. Somehow it’s both insanely chic but also looks like you’ve been decorating your living room all day. The fact that it’s backless aside from a BELT. Jaw-dropping. I think anyone who wears anything from this shop is immediately the coolest chica in the room.
Again, their catwalk collections are absolutely insane. Here’s the website and Instagram.

3. SYC
SYC stands for ‘Save Your Clothes’ and was founded by cousins Fernando and Maria in Toledo in 2020. All pieces are upcycled using old garments, which is pretty wonderful.
I’m particularly a fan of their big statement moon belts and studded shoulder bags (available in the perfect shade of pink). But their big bow skirts and sheer dresses are also so beautiful. So basically everything. I love everything.
Whilst I don’t think there’s an online store just yet, they did have a showroom during Madrid Fashion Week, and I can’t wait for their next physical space in Madrid! In the meantime, check out their Instagram here.

4. Tania Marcial
Tania started her own sustainable clothing brand in response to the overproduction she witnessed whilst working in the fashion industry. She mainly uses denim, patchwork techniques, and circular knitting to upcycle old garments, and she does it in a really epic way.
She has a lot of dark and sexy pieces, like leather corsets, and a big selection of spikey and studded baseball caps. It’s giving punk rock. But I think my favourites are the denim pieces. There’s an incredible denim puffer jacket that I can see becoming seriously popular, and some really, really cool patchwork t-shirts and tank tops. But I think it’s the orange and red tank that’s calling my name…
You can check out Tania’s website and Instagram here.

5. MaisxFrida
Predominantly a jewellery store, this Barcelona-based brand is definitely gaining popularity, particularly in LA. I mean, I know that Addison Rae is a fan. We stan Addison.
BUT, their clothes are also really good. It’s not a huge collection, but they have some really great basics, as well as some sparkly statement pieces (always necessary). There’s definitely a 60s/70s influence, and they often pair fits with low-waisted belts and high boots (you can’t go wrong). If you’re looking for a dress that you can style for the day and night, it’s definitely the place to go.
You can find their website and Instagram here.

6. attega
Ok but this is where you go for matching sets. Attega was started by Gabriela Flores, and all of the pieces are designed and ethically produced in the south of Spain. A lot of the materials used are leftovers from other companies too, which is another green tick from me!
Again, this is a good place to go for some classic wardrobe staples. They don’t have a huge shop, but everything they sell is really nice. We’re talking bandeau and off-the-shoulder tops, and long 90s skirts.
But, you guessed it, my favourite pieces are the sets! The bright blue sparkly sheer top with matching skirt is to die for. And the matching bandeau, scarf, and skirt sets are actually the perfect party attire.
Here’s the website and Instagram, go crazy.

So yes, I hope you liked the brands and discovered some new ones to follow. I think that each store offers something slightly different. I love the growth of slow fashion, and it’s so impressive how many high quality sustainable brands you can find in Spain! I have plenty more up my sleeve, so I definitely need to do some more posts. Just you wait…
